Why Everyone Loves Granite
Granite counters have been popular since the 1970s, and people from all over the world love to use it as a construction material. Here are just a few of the reasons why granite is the best choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and other parts of your home:

  • Beautiful: It’s hard to deny that granite looks amazing in nearly every decorative setting. With beautiful colors and natural patterns, your stone counters will be the center of attention in your kitchen design.
  • Durable: Granite is one of the most durable and long-lasting construction materials in existence. Your new granite counters won’t scratch, chip, crack, or break under anything that you could reasonably do to them.
  • Heat-resistant: Granite can easily withstand temperatures up to 480 degrees and is unlike to break from exposure to temperatures up to 1,200 degrees. This means you can place your hot pots and pans directly on the counter without worrying about cracking or other forms of damage.
  • Sanitary: Granite is perfect for kitchens because the material is naturally antibacterial. We also seal our stone countertops to keep them safe for food preparation.
  • Low-maintenance: Granite counters are easy to clean and require very little maintenance. You may want to polish and re-seal your counters as the years pass, but you can generally expect them to maintain their brilliant shine.
  • Unique: The best thing about natural stone materials is that every slab is unique. Your granite countertop will have a rich hue and gorgeous veins that don’t match any other stone in the world. Choose from a variety of different colors and styles to get counters that look perfect in your home.

Granite Colors and Patterns
Granite slabs come in a variety of natural colors, including white, black, blue, brown, gray, and gold. The marbled patterns inside the stone will also have unique colors; no two pieces of granite are exactly alike.

Most granite patterns can be defined as either veined or homogenous. Homogenous granite has the same pattern spread across the entire piece of stone. These slabs are great for a low-impact or neutral aesthetic, and they’re often easy to color match with other parts of your home. In contrast, veined granite has dramatic patterns that weave randomly through the stone. These intricate shapes are distinct and beautiful; if you choose veined granite, we’ll cut your counters to highlight the best parts of the natural design.

Caring for Your New Granite Countertops
Taking care of granite counters is incredibly easy. After you’re done cooking, simply wipe the counter down with a cloth, warm water, and soap. You can also use alcohol as a disinfectant. Avoid cleaning with vinegar, lemon juice, or other acidic solutions; acid breaks down natural stone counters and can damage the finish.

Natural stone counters, including granite, need to be sealed on a semi-yearly basis. You can apply your own sealant, or you can contact us for a professional sealing and repair. Our professional team can also re-polish any areas where your granite has become worn or damaged.
